PlateForge — Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-08-01 · version 2026-08-01
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of theplateforge.com (the "Site") and your purchase of digital products from PlateForge LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("PlateForge," "we," "us"). By using the Site or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. What We Sell — Digital Files Only#
PlateForge sells digital design files (such as STL and 3MF files) for 3D-printable address plaques, doorbell surrounds, and related items ("Files"). We do not sell, manufacture, ship, or install physical products. Your purchase is complete upon electronic delivery of the Files. Any physical object exists only if and when you (or a third party you engage) manufacture it.
2. Your Responsibilities for Printing, Assembly, and Installation#
You are solely responsible for: (a) printing the Files, including printer selection, calibration, print settings, and material selection; (b) the quality, strength, and durability of any printed object; (c) assembly of multi-piece products, including test-fitting joints before committing to full prints; (d) selecting materials appropriate for your environment (for example, UV-stable materials such as PETG or ASA for outdoor use); and (e) safe and secure mounting and installation, including selecting appropriate hardware and anchors for your wall or surface and verifying the installed object is secure. Printed objects can fall or fail if improperly printed, assembled, or mounted. PlateForge provides general guidance (such as the included hardware guide) for convenience only; it is not professional installation advice.
3. Product Previews and Physical Results#
On-screen previews, renders, and dimensions are provided to help you configure your design. Actual printed results depend on your printer, materials, and settings and may vary in color, finish, dimension, and detail. Fine details may not reproduce at small sizes; where our tools warn that a design element may not print cleanly at a selected size, proceeding is your choice.
4. License#
Upon full payment, PlateForge grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the purchased Files to manufacture printed objects for your own personal use (including printing replacement copies for yourself and engaging a third-party print service to print your copy for you). You may not: resell, redistribute, share, or publish the Files; manufacture objects from the Files for sale or for others at scale; or use the Files to create derivative products for distribution. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
5. Intellectual Property#
The Site, the design configurator, all templates, motifs, fonts as applied, generated geometry, and the Files are the property of PlateForge LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Your address text is supplied by you; the design embodying it is ours.
6. Orders, Pricing, and Payment#
Prices are stated at checkout and may change at any time. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.; we do not receive or store your full payment card details. Applicable sales tax is calculated and collected at checkout where required.
7. Delivery#
Files are delivered electronically to the email address you provide and/or via download link following payment confirmation. It is your responsibility to provide an accurate email address. If you do not receive your Files within a reasonable time, contact us at support@theplateforge.com and we will re-deliver them.
8. Refunds and Defective Files#
Because Files are digital goods delivered immediately, all sales are final once the Files have been delivered, except as follows: if a File is defective — meaning it fails to open in standard slicing software, fails geometric integrity (for example, is not manifold), or materially fails to match the design you configured — we will, at our option, regenerate and re-deliver a corrected File or refund the purchase price. Report defects to support@theplateforge.com within 30 days of purchase. Dissatisfaction with printed results attributable to printing, materials, settings, assembly, or installation is not a File defect.
9. Acceptable Use#
You agree not to use the Site to submit unlawful, infringing, or offensive content for inclusion in a design; interfere with the Site's operation; attempt to access Files you have not purchased; or use automated means to scrape or bulk-generate designs. We may refuse or cancel orders that violate these Terms, with a refund of amounts paid for undelivered Files.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties#
THE SITE AND THE FILES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLATEFORGE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PLATEFORGE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT PRINTED OBJECTS WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR BE SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR APPLICATION, ENVIRONMENT, OR MOUNTING CONDITION.
11. Limitation of Liability#
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) PLATEFORGE'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE, THE FILES, OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE FILE(S) GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; AND (B) PLATEFORGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING FROM OBJECTS YOU OR OTHERS MANUFACTURE, ASSEMBLE, OR INSTALL FROM THE FILES. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
12. Indemnification#
You will indemnify and hold harmless PlateForge LLC and its member from claims arising out of your printing, assembly, installation, use, or distribution of objects manufactured from the Files, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Age#
The Site is intended for users 18 years of age or older. By purchasing, you represent that you are at least 18.
14. Changes to the Site and These Terms#
We may modify the Site, our products, and these Terms. Changes to these Terms apply prospectively from their posted effective date; your purchases are governed by the Terms in effect at the time of purchase.
15. Governing Law; Disputes#
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
